Advanced Drinking back

Mostly slang that no Brit has ever uttered, so prepare to impress.

*  Le pinard - wine
*  Le rouquin - red wine
**  la piquette - plonk
*  un petit canon - a little glass of wine
*  un litron - a litre bottle
**  paf - legless
**  blindé(e) - ditto (blinded)
**  schlass - ditto
*  les cadavres - the empties (literally the corpses)
* un apéro - cocktail (short or un apéretif)
*  boire un coup - to have a drink
*  rond(e) - plastered (round)
*  rond(e) comme une bille drunk - (round like a ball)
*  Le gros rouge qui tache et qui pousse au crime - Ordinary red wine (literally, the thick red wine that stains and incites to crime)
du **  pipi d’âne - (donkey’s piss) any weak beverage (coffee etc)
du * pipi de chat - (cat’s piss)
* avoir un verre dans le nez - to have had one too many (lit. to have a glass in the nose)
*  Arroser un évènement - To celebrate an event with a drink
*  Ca s’arrose ! - This calls for a celebration !
Boire à la santé de quelqu’un - To drink to somebody’s health
*  Marcher au rouge / * carburer au rouge - To be partial to red wine
*  Baptiser son vin - To dilute one’s wine with water
