Frequently Asked Questions The main benefit of joining the club is participation in league and tournament games. Home matches are played at the Exmouth Arms, Starcross St NW1 (nearest undergrounds Euston, Euston Square and Warren Street). We have several teams in different league divisions, and usually book Monday and Wednesday evenings in the league season, which runs from September to May. Spectators are welcome. The games are in the upstairs room of the pub, which provides sufficient peace and quiet. Subscriptions are 35.00 (pounds sterling) this year, which will get you regular match play, and all the social events of the club too. We also intend to run occasionally social meetups for friendly 5-minute chess in varying bars/locations around London - all club members & new potential members are very welcome. (We unfortunately no longer meet once a week in any bar.) We're one of the friendliest clubs in London: however if you don't like the "pub atmosphere," another club might be better (there are at least 30 clubs in London). |
